Stephen Shepperd...a long-time friend of Kent “Pancho” Simonson, committed to helping to raise funds for the new Miss Spokane vintage unlimited restoration efforts taking place at his shop in the SpokaneValley.

The first project was the creation of a 2025 Miss Spokane Restoration Booster pin, which was offered through Hydromaniacs.unlimited and made available to members of several vintage hydroplane Facebook pages for $20 per button plus $6 shipping. That offering sold 91 of the 2”metal pins which raised in excess of $1,800 to help Pancho purchase wood and other materials for the restoration project.

The latest offering is the three-inch metal Miss Spokane Restoration pin that the firstrestoration team offered back for sale back in 1983. The pins did not sell well and were stored away until recently and we are offering the pins at $15 plus $7 shipping                      (USPS rates were recently raised).

Like the 2025 button, all proceeds from the sale of the 1983 button go directly to the restoration effort.  I will soon be taking another $500 check to Pancho, pushing the total so farto $2,000.

The next offering slated for later this year will be the small 2.5 cm x 1 cm gold-plated MissSpokane tack that was offered for sale as a fundraiser by the Miss Spokane Hydroplane Association back in 1961. The tack comes in its original 3.25 cm x 3.25 cm x 1.5 cm plastic display box.

If a person is not interested in purchasing a button, we welcome cash donations towards the restoration. It is estimated that the project will cost upwards of $100,000 to complete, and all financial help is welcome.
